follow me on facebook Description : Workshops take place at Mojave Stars Ranch and within the park. They are experiential which means we will be both observing the desert as well as participating in activities to deepen and test our awareness of it and use these interactions to dialogue with the desert in our writing. For example, workshops include an initiation to the desert ceremony, high noon writing where we read various odes to the sun while imbibing bright drinks and don golden accouterments, and aural field-trips into the desert where we translate the layers of sounds (desert, bodies) into our work. Work written on the retreat may be submitted for inclusion in our online and print anthology! This is an annual retreat, so come and come again! <3

October 25 – Lit Crawl LA at District Pub – 9pm, Round 3!

I will be reading with “From Yin to Bang | Women’s Voices Now” Rose Tully, Friday Gretchen, Diana Salier, Jen Hitchcock, Emily Clark, and Heidi Basch-Harod at District Pub with Lit Crawl L.A. Here’s the official event description:

Join this motley crew for a salon-style reading of poetry and prose from and about their experience as women in the greater Los Angeles area. From funny and wacky to serious, alluring, and political, these authors take you to Venus and back. Time travel, kiss unemployment on the mouth, and frolic with billy goats: it’s write or die, ludicrous and familiar all at once. At the same time, get to know about your local non-profit. Since 2011, Women’s Voices Now has been advocating for women’s civil, economic, political, and gender rights and creating platforms to connect conscientious art and media creators, activists, and audiences.
